Our Trustees
Whilst we started as a sports club run by local people for local talent, we became a registered charity in 2016, but still have Trustees that look after the interests of the club.

Our Club
Newcastle Staffs Volleyball Club was formed in 1980. We were formed from 2 local school teams, Marshlands High School (now The Orme Academy) and Edward Orme High School (now Newcastle Academy). We entered the National League that year, and gained promotion from the lower leagues to the top league in successive years.
We have always strived to provide competitive sport for all aspects of the community, and have linked in with local schools. We have always had boys and girls teams that have won national tropies and provided a large number of national players at junior level. Currently we enter numerous boys and girls teams into all national age group competitions.
In past years we have explored and been successful with Sitting Volleyball. Whilst we currently don't have a sitting Volleyball team, we have played very competitively, reaching a National Final.
In 2012, as part of the legacy from the London Olympic Games, we formed a Social Volleyball session for those the wanted to play, more for fun and not necessarily in the competitive manner of the National League teams. This has gone from strength to strength, and now organises and provides the players for the West Midlands Regional League teams.
In senior competition, we currently have 3 men's teams and 3 ladies teams that play in the West Midlands Regional League, and the National League. The Men play in Division 1 and 2 of the National League and Division 2 in the West Midlands League. The Ladies teams play in Division 2 and 3 of the National League, and Division 1 of the West Midlands Regional League.
In recent seasons, the Men's first team were unable to maintain their place in the top league but have performed consistently in Division 1. The Men's second team gained promotion from Division 3 to Division 2 and have performed well to keep their place. The Men's third team got promoted from the West Midlands Division 3 to Division 2. The Ladies first team got promoted from Division 3 to Division 2, and the Ladies second team got promoted from the West Midlands regional League to Division 3 in the National League. We have the Ladies third team playing in Division 1 of the West Midlands Regional League. With finalists in National junior competitions, 2024/25 has to be seen as a very successful season.
Our Governance and Documents
Newcastle has won a number of English National volleyball titles, predominantly in the junior age groups, and a number of players have been recognised at International level. In 2010 and 2011 the National Under-18 Champion Boys' Team travelled to Castellana Grotte in Southern Italy to take part in the inaugural EuroVolley Cup in 2010, and the second in 2011. This is a European junior boys club competition supported by the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) and the Italian federation (FIPAV). In 2010, the team won two of its nine matches, finishing in 8th place, and in 2011 they managed a creditable 6th place.
